Transitioning Velvet into Spring

Spring Velvet

Happy Friday, beautiful! Velvet made a grand comeback for fall and winter fashion. From blazers and pantsuits to blouses and dresses, this lux fabric was the star of cold weather style. Now that spring is here, you don’t have to send your velvet wardrobe into hibernation. Here, this traditional winter fabric makes an appearance in a cut typically seen in a spring or summer wardrobe. For this look, I paired a J.Crew black velvet tank with gold embroidered black jeans for a casual-chic date night style. The comfort and ease of this look are overshadowed by the rich velvet tank and gilded jeans. I topped it off with pompom earrings, strappy heels, and a beaded clutch.

There are countless other ways to incorporate velvet into your spring style. Layer a velvet blazer over a mini dress or a velvet blouse with chic shorts and beaded sandals. Velvet in springtime hues, such as dusty pink, is another great way to bring it into the sunny seasons. Velvet can be a fabric for all seasons.
