Monday Motivation

Happy Monday, beautiful! Yes, you read that correctly- Happy Monday! Mondays don’t have to be the dreaded black sheep of the week. Instead of thinking of Mondays as the end of the fun and relaxing weekend, think of them as the beginning something new- a new week to create, work, experience, love, and live. Inject positivity into your Monday outlook like we do with a new year or the first day of spring. It’s a chance to start fresh and new.

Thinking of Mondays as something to look forward to isn’t always easy for me, either. In fact, it’s something very new for me. Here are some tips to get you excited for more Mondays:

Set an intention for the week. If this sounds a little too hippie for you, think of it as a goal. Having an intention or goal will give you something to be excited about working towards.

Routine. Have a routine or plan for your day and week. This will help you stay on track. My mind is so full that this really helps me stay on track. I’m incredibly forgetful these days (hello, mommy of twins brain!), so having a routine helps me to stay on track.

Exercise. Exercise really is beneficial for every part of your body- including your mind. When I feel like I don’t have time to fit in a full fitness routine, I’ll at least begin the day with a quick yoga routine or a morning walk. This does wonders for my body and mind. Check out this quick morning yoga routine to get you going.

Disconnect. Electronically, that is. This one may be the most difficult in our current culture, however, it’s probably the most important. Whether you take the time to spend alone (read a book, have a cup of tea, pamper yourself) or with someone else, we need time away from the digital world and reconnect with the real world. This will help you refocus and refresh your mind on what matters.

How do you beat the Monday blues and get motivated for the week ahead? Please share- I’d love to learn what works for you.

Style Notes

This laid-back look is more than leggings and a tee for bumming around the house. First of all, can I just say how amazing these leggings are?! Comfy and cool wrapped up in one versatile item- yes, please! I just love this statement tee- reminds me of living in Europe in my modeling days. By adding an extra piece or accessory or two, you can take this look out of the house and into the rest of your life. Throw on a blazer and heels or flats to elevate it to meeting or date-worthy status. For a sporty look, pair it with sneakers and you’re good to go. If it’s cold out, throw on a chunky sweater and boots to keep you warm and cozy. I love the idea of pairing this statement tee with this skirt for a cool mom look.

How would you style these basics for your life out in the real world?

Get shopping: Sol Angeles tee, J.Crew pants (similar here).
