Holiday Party Style- A Statement Top and Skinny Pants

Strapless red top

Hello, beautiful. I’m continuing my week of holiday party styles with this modern-chic look. Although my first instinct is to wear a sleek dress to a holiday party, it’s fun to switch things up every now and then. I discovered this gleaming red Alice and Olivia top a few months ago and knew it would be perfect for the holidays. This structured strapless top is voluminous and makes a statement on its own, so I balanced it out by pairing it with a simple black skinny pant with a little shine of its own. I kept the accessories simple with a beaded clutch and timeless jewelry. For a holiday style with a little edge, pair this with coated jeans– perfect for a night out to celebrate the holidays with your girlfriends.

  1. Such a pretty outfit… I love that its fun, elegant, and not a dress. (I think I only own 2 dresses…) I love seeing all your different outfits. I went shopping the other day and felt so lost between the (super ugly, my opinion) “junior” section and the (old lady shirts my Grandmother would wear, again my opinion) “women’s” section. I would lose all hope if it wasn’t for your blog. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. This is so very nice to see! I really am touched by your kind words. I agree, shopping can be frustrating. I feel like I’m stuck in between the “junior” and “women” departments too. Many current trends leave me bewildered too. Like, for instance, mom jeans- they were ugly 20 years ago when we had no other option and they’re still ugly today (and so unflattering on everyone). Have a lovely day.

      XOXO, Amy
