Hello, beautiful! The weekend is nearly here and many will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Although in Mexico the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s underdog victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, in the U.S. the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. Cinco de Mayo celebrations across the U.S. have become more popular in recent years in which tequila (one drink I’ve had to stay away from since a terrible Tequila experience back in college), guacamole, fajitas, Mexican beer, and lively music and dancing will be abundant. If you’re planning on celebrating this colorful and vibrant culture this weekend, then let your clothes celebrate with you. This maxi skirt and matching blouse is the perfect look for any fiesta. The bright and beautiful embroidery reflects the artistic spirit of the Mexican-American culture. Made of cotton gauze, this maxi floats along like a dream and is oh-so-comfy to wear (very important detail for this mommy). The blouse also looks great paired with flared jeans or denim shorts while a simple colored tank looks amazing with the skirt. The variations are limitless.
Here’s to a fun and festive weekend and a style to match!
Special thanks to Allana Wesley White Photography for the lovely photos.
