Maui Wowi- Part 1

I have always dreamed of going to Hawaii. Everything about Hawaii has always intrigued me- the people, the traditions, the cuisine, the breathtaking scenery, and the magic everyone who has ever visited speaks of. My nana and papa aways dreamed of going to Hawaii but it was an unfulfilled dream.  So when my hubby surprised the girls and I with a trip to Maui for our Christmas present, I was over the moon!  I could barely contain my excitement (insert my happy dance).

We had a few months to plan our trip and we were quite overwhelmed.  Thankfully we have amazing neighbors who had recently moved from Maui and became a great source of information from a local’s perspective! When I was traveling as a model, I loved that I got to live like a local and not just visit the touristy places.  For this, I am grateful that we had the inside scoop on Maui.  Our dear friends recommended the Montage Kapalua Bay as our home in paradise.  We couldn’t have been happier with the hotel or the location. Kapalua is located on the west side of Maui, is more scenic, and less crowded than other more well-known areas (when we travel we prefer quiet and calm over crowded and crazy). The Montage itself, located beachfront on the west side of Maui, has large, condo-style rooms complete with kitchens, laundry rooms and expansive, ocean-view, wrap-around balconies, delicious dining options, a kids club, cultural learning activities (the girls and I enjoyed the lei making and hula lessons), golf, tennis, snorkeling, paddle boarding, surfing, and a stunning, 4-level pool complete with waterfalls, bridges, and grottos. We spent the first couple of days relaxing at the resort and enjoyed all that it offers. This was the perfect way to adjust to the time change and for the girls to let loose after the long plane rides.

  1. How lovely! It looks like a wonderful vacation. I have always dreamed of a Hawaii vacation… One day it will happen!

    1. Thanks Jennifer! Keep on dreaming, love, and you’ll make it there too! Just be prepared to never want to go back home again!

  2. Wow! I’ve been wanting to visit there myself. We went for our honeymoon many years ago but were caught in the tourist areas which were still very nice but nowhere near as amazing as this trip of your sounds… What beautiful landscapes! The pools look stunning as well. No place could compare! These tips are great, thank you for sharing.Traveling with little ones calls for a calm atmosphere and larger condo style rooms like where you stayed! We will look into this place for sure and will be asking for tips when we book our next trip to Hawaii!

    1. Thanks Kate! Maui was amazing and I’m thankful we had friends who were local there to give us an insider’s perspective. Check back soon- I’ll be posting more from our Maui vacation soon.
