Happy Friday, beautiful! This summer is spinning by faster and faster everyday. We did quite a bit of traveling at the very beginning of summer, which included a Disney cruise from San Diego to Vancouver, a trip to Mexico, and two trips to Miami to visit family. The photos here are from a recent visit to Miami where we stayed at the amazing and new Four Seasons Surfside (keep an eye out for more on our new favorite place to stay in Miami). Although we have a couple more weekend getaways planned and a Girl Scout camp, our other plans include laying low, sleeping in, and taking it easy for the rest of our summer holiday. This was our “no plans” plan last summer, and it was great. Mila and Kaiya have to get up at 6am during the school year (which makes for crazy and exhausting mornings), so when they get a break from school, I like giving them a break from the crazy schedule. We’ve had fun with our neighbors and cousins visiting from out of town and can’t wait to host more visitors. We love to spend the days in the pool and go to the Disney parks in the evening (benefits of living close to Mickey!). We will bake cookies and make s’mores, ride bikes, and swim in the pool late into the night. Most importantly, we’ll be making memories.
Ok, moms- I want to hear all about your summer plans. How do you keep your kids busy during their break from school? Do your kiddos go to summer camp (day or sleep away), hang out at home, or do they go to stay with Grandma or Auntie? Do you get to take a family vacation? If so, where do you like to go? Amongst my friends, we all have different ways of approaching summertime. Some of my friends need to keep their kids super busy with lots of activities, some make no plans, and others find a balance in providing activities and taking it easy. I’d love to hear how you make the most of summer vacation.
A special thanks to Allana Wesley White Photography for the lovely photos.
