Hello, beautiful! It’s that spooky time of year and Halloween is quickly approaching. I often have lots of ideas and plans for fun Halloween activities with my girls, but then time escapes me, I forget, and then Halloween has passed. Who else has mommy brain to blame for forgetting pretty much everything in life?! Well, this year I managed to get it together and surprise Kaiya and Mila with this little Halloween party for them. It’s amazing how creating a festive table and environment really made my cherry blossoms squeal with joy.
My girls have long been afraid of… well… pretty much everything. To avoid scaring them too much (thus preventing them from having bad dreams and trying to sleep with mommy and daddy at night), I have focused on not-so-spooky Halloween decor at this time of year. Thankfully, Pottery Barn Kids has an adorable collection of Halloween decorations that Mila and Kaiya love. Black and white gingham, orange, pumpkins, ghosts, skulls, and Snoopy made the table festive and fun. I even filled the table with lots of Halloween candies and treats- all organic and natural of course (don’t forget, I am one of THOSE crazy organic mommies)! They were so excited when they saw what I had created for them that they put on their costumes from last year and invited their teddy bears (which were given to me by my grandmother when I was young) to join the party.
How do you and your family decorate for Halloween? Do you like spooky and scary or do you prefer a sweeter take on it? Please share, I’d love to know.
